음주 운전의 위험성에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

음주 운전은 절대로 해서는 안 되는 매우 위험한 행동이다. 음주 운전은 운전자 본인을 위험에 빠뜨리고, 다른 사람들에게도 큰 위협이 된다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 음주 운전을 하는 사람들이 항상 있다. 경찰의 단속에 음주 운전자들이 빈번히 적발되고 있다. 음주 운전으로 인한 사고들도 꾸준히 발생하고 있다. 음주 운전은 절대로 해서는 안 된다는 인식이 더욱 강해져야 한다.
 

 

Talk about the dangers of drunk driving.

Drunk driving is very dangerous, and should never be done. Driving drunk puts the driver in danger, and it is also dangerous to others. Despite this, there are always people who drive under the influence. They are caught often in police crackdowns. Accidents caused by drunk driving continue to happen. There has to be greater awareness that drunk driving is never okay.

음주 운전 관련 처벌에 대해 이야기해 주세요.

2018년 음주 운전자가 낸 사고로 목숨을 잃은 고 윤청호 씨 사건을 계기로, 음주 운전 처벌 강화를 위한 사회적 요구가 매우 강해졌다. 실제로 음주 운전 처벌 조항들이 강화되었다. 이제는 음주 운전으로 사망 사고를 낼 경우, 최소 3 년에서 무기징역의 처벌을 받을 수 있다. 또한, 2019년 6월부터는 음주 운전 단속에 두 번째 적발되면, 자동으로 운전면허가 취소된다. 단속 기준도 혈중 알코올 농도 0.05% 에서 0.03%로 강화되었다.
 

Talk about penalties related to drunk driving.

Following the death of the late Yoon Chang-ho, who was killed by a drunk driver in 2018, public demand has grown for stiffer penalties on drunk driving. DUI penalties have been beefed up. Causing a death while driving drunk can result in a sentence of at least three years up to a life sentence. Starting in June of 2019, repeat offenders will have their license revoked automatically. The standard for blood alcohol content has also been strengthened from 0.05% to 0.03%.
